Raw Tai Chi

Within the internal side of RAW COMBAT's training there are Five contemporary arts trained. These arts are:

  • MEDITATION
  • QI GONG (Breathing Exercises which also assist the development of Iron Shirt & Iron Palm Training)
  • TAI JI QUAN (Better known as Tai Chi )
  • INTERNAL KUNG FU
  • IRON SHIRT/PALM (Body Conditioning).



MEDITATION:
Expanding awareness back into the conscience to obtain a higher level of self understanding leading to total self control and in turn not limitation to growth, development and learning potential. This Meditation also assists in Mental Projection, obtaining goals, stress relief, training practice (mentally) and progression as students often go through routines in their head.

The reason these four next arts are classed as moving meditation is because they concentrate on expanding the awareness into the intentions behind training etc and then further expanding them into the body with the awareness of posture (structural alignment), tension release (relaxation- leading to sensitivity) & Sensitivity. This sensitivity allows one to become more aware of their centre of gravity, enabling them to control and maintain their balance…. Once this is properly achieved students of internal boxing then further expand their awareness (through relaxation and sensitivity) into the opponents structure finding tension and maintaining control of their centre also.

QI GONG:
Basic breathing exercises which have the benefits of: Iron Shirt & Iron Palm Conditioning, Strengthening Tendons & Ligaments (assisting in joint mobility), Increasing White Blood Cell Count which fights disease etc, structural/postural alignment which helps rid the body of tension which has major impacting health factors.

TAI JI QUAN:
Better known as Tai Chi, this exercise has the exact same benefits however are slightly more strenuous in form and have superior martial application which is extremely useful for Self Defence. The main difference between Tai Ji & Qi Gong is that Tai Ji trains with Martial Orientation with a Martial Essence & Understanding, whereas Qi Gong is more so for exercise with the intention of pure health cultivation.

RAW TAI CHI
Raw Combat International follows the teachings of Master Huang of the Yang Style Tai Chi.
As Tai Ji is such a strong reflection of Daoist teachings, most concepts are based on three principals. The three main elements to understand in Daoist teachings are Heaven, Man, Earth (TIAN, REN, DI); Daoism along with Tai Ji practice allows us to understand and accept the way the interconnections are formed.

TAI JI QUAN JI BEN GONG XUE (The Basics in Tai Chi Study)

  • HUMAN LEVEL: Understanding Self
  • EARTH LEVEL: Understanding Environment.
  • HEAVEN LEVEL: Understanding the Universe (the Laws of the Universe; the DAO).

TAI JI QUAN SHI (Tai Chi Form)

  • HUMAN LEVEL: Understanding the mechanical aspects (of training/practice) & Interconnections.
  • EARTH LEVEL: Understanding the Energies: Open Channels, let it flow like a river- freely.
  • HEAVEN LEVEL: Understanding how to sense energy or intentions from around you.


TAI JI NEI JIN XUE (Internal Elements – 9 pearls) Note* Explained in depth Later.

  • HEAVEN: HEAD- CORRECT POSITIONING OF: HEAD, BACK & WAIST.
  • EARTH: HANDS- CORRECT POSITIONING OF: HAND, ELBOW & SHOULDER.
  • HUMAN: FEET- CORRECT POSITIONING OF: FEET, KNEES & THIGHS.
