Raw Combat International’s Equipment Usage for Law Enforcement Professionals

Raw Combat International offers two courses in relation to this element of training; Baton & Handcuff.

TACTICAL BATON TRAINING

Most baton training courses teach no more than a couple of basic strikes and a bunch of useless locks and ‘techniques’ no-one uses as they never remember them!

Our baton course, like any other training within the system looks at the basics and then breaks down each scenario discussing the variables, your options and always keeping in mind that these drills are for Law Enforcement Professionals! The training is referred to as TACTICAL for a reason; We have the objective of staying on the right side of the law and at the end of the day going home to our families! There is no room for heros in this course! If you want to learn tricks with a stick to show off then you should be going to ballet lessons! They are just as useful to you in the professional world of law enforcement! We have the simple aim of protecting ourselves, temporarily disabling the suspect (if necessary and without causing grievous bodily harm) and restraining them, preparing them for being arrested if necessary.

TACTICAL HANDCUFF TRAINING

Back in the day there was a believe that the old master with his old ways new the ways of the world and the tricks of his trade. Well, today the world has changed and so has the trade due to the job requirements! A simple tool box with knowledge of how those tools are simply applied simply doesn’t cut it in this day and age!

This course looks at a wide variety of situations we have had put to us by our students in Law Enforcement. All scenarios are tried and tested for effectiveness. Of course we know that a plain flies and a pilot flies it. But not just anyone of us can jump in, think we’re a pilot and expect it to fly. We all have to start someone! In training with Raw Combat we aim to be in control of each situation 100% of the time! From start to finish; from when you first face a suspect until you are no longer facing him or her (weather they are in prison or out of your hands), the point is you are going home safely!

Studies show that most suspects will naturally resist when they feel they are about to be restrained. They are aware of the next steps, cuffing and possibly prison! Many of us know that these guys would rather put up a fight for a few seconds (in an attempt to escape) rather than go to prison! Hence the importance of being in control of the situation (regardless how big a threat) 100% of the time!

One of the biggest differences with our handcuffing course is that it not only goes over all basics but also teaches simple and easy to remember tactics for cuff-preparation! Training is not ‘technique’ based but rather based on principal! We don’t have time to remember each technique of each drill, so the modern teaching method has adapted to showing students what situation they are in and what situation they NEED to be in! Training Raw Combat also allows you to develop second nature skills as all drills are put to the test in simulation training! We also use the handcuffs in extreme situations as an improvised weapon & if necessary an impact weapon; a controversial yet extremely effective way of training!
